The plugin was built in Outsim SynthMaker to allow for an advanced user interface, and sounds were evaluated against the output of FamiTracker, which uses the Blip Buffer library to generate "perfect" alias-free primitive waveforms. Due to the filtering, it will generate a minimum of about 1,235 samples of delay (28ms or 1/36 of a second at 44.1K), but there is delay compensation for mixdown on hosts that support it. While I wouldn't expect this to get as much use as a hardware pedal in gigging or band practice situations, I did try to keep the latency as low as possible.
